Ravens Rice Auctions Jeep To Help Boston Bombing Victim Brannock

The bidding on the vehicle ends Aug. 2 and the winner will get to meet the Ravens running back.

If you're a Ravens fan and you have $43,000 sitting around, you could be the owner of running back Ray Rice's 2013 Jeep Rubicon Unlimited.

Rice is auctioning off the vehicle on eBay to raise money for 29-year-old Cockeysville resident Erika Brannock, who was injured in the Boston Marathon Bombing.

"I’m not a materialistic guy, so me and my buddy Evan Berney over at Carbiz [in Owings Mills], we thought it would be cool to auction off a car and give some of the proceeds to that family who really needs something right now because of what they’ve been through," Rice told ABC2News.

Brannock, who teaches preschool at Towson's Trinity Episcopal Children's Center, returned home in early June following a 50-day hospitalization during which she underwent 10 surgeries, including the amputation of her left leg.

Recently Valley Motors donated $10,000 to the Brannock family through the Erika Brannock Fund.

With 11 bids entered, the price of Rice's Jeep is holding at $43,000 as of Friday morning. The eBay listing claims that 5 percent of the final sale price will be donated to Brannock and bids don't close until 6 p.m. Aug. 2.

"This is a "like new" condition fully upgraded Jeep outfitted with the following options and built for Superbowl Champ Ray Rice: The winner will also get a personal meet & greet with Ray at the dealership upon delivery. The winner will get a free autograph and photo with Ray," according to the vehicle description on eBay.
