Cockeysville Precinct Crime: Handicap Placards Stolen From Multiple Vehicles

The following information was supplied by the Baltimore County Police Department's Cockeysville Precinct. In cases where a criminal charge is noted, the information provided does not indicate a conviction.

Cockeysville Gelding Drive, 10300 block. Between 7:45 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. May 1. A burglar broke through drywall to access adjoining units at an apartment complex. A television, laptop, blank check and hard drive were all stolen from one of the units. Hometown Way, 300 block. Between 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. April 29. A television, a laptop and two diamond rings were stolen from a residence. Phoenix Manor Road, 14700 block. Between 1:15 p.m. and 5:47 p.m. May 3. Tools were stolen from the garage of a residence. Timonium Hollis Court, unit block. Between 8 p.m. April 29 and 4:35 a.m. April 30. A gym bag and shoes were stolen from an unlocked trunk of a car at a residence. E. Ridgely Road, 100 block. Cockeysville Precinct Crime: Thief Takes Jewelry

A burglar pried a screen and window to get into a home and steal jewelry. Between March 28 and April 2, numerous pieces of jewelry were missing from a jewelry box at a home in the 13800 block of Hess Mill Road in Phoenix, according to a report by Baltimore County police. A thief got in through the second-story window, the report states.

Police Foil Scheme, Stop Phoenix Senior from Losing $48K

Woman thought she was sending money to bail her grandson out of jail.

A Phoenix woman was deceived by thieves who tried to swindle her out of $48,500, but Baltimore County police stopped the theft before her money was gone forever. "The electronic transfer was stopped by detectives," said Det. Cathleen Batton, spokeswoman for the police department. It was March 13 when the woman, 81, received a telephone call from someone who "advised her grandson needed $48,000 to bail him out" of jail, according to a police report. She wired the money to the suspect's account in California, then contacted her grandson in New Jersey and found the story she heard on the phone wasn't true, police said. "Schemes where suspects attempt to get the victims to send money for a variety of reasons are not uncommon," Batton said. "…

Journal Entries Result in Eight Burglary Charges

Police say a 22-year-old Lutherville woman wrote about the Parkville and Cockeysville homes she allegedly burglarized.

For some, a journal is a place to keep their secrets but one Lutherville woman's journal entries resulted in eight burglary charges. Emily Kearns, 22, of the unit block of Elphin Court, is charged with a series of nine burglaries that span areas in both Cockeysville and Parkville precincts. Kearns was arrested on Dec. 4 when detectives, who were keeping her under surveillance, saw her break into a home in the unit block of Country Club Lane and attempt to break into a home in the unit block of Greentree Drive in the Phoenix area, according to police spokeswoman Cpl. Cathleen Batton. After her arrest, detectives recovered a journal the woman allegedly kept which was used as part of the investigation that tied her to six other burglaries in …

North County Crime: Copper Coil Stolen from Proctor & Gamble

The following information was supplied by the Baltimore County Police Department at the Cockeysville Precinct. In cases where a criminal charge is noted, the information provided does not indicate a conviction.

Cockeysville York Road, 11000 block, between noon Sept. 2011 and noon March 17. Ten feet of copper coil was stolen from an air conditoner on the roof of Proctor & Gamble. This incident was reported on March 21. Phoenix Robcaste Road, 1400 block, between 12:45 a.m. and 12:51 March 20. Someone tried to break into a shed at a residence. The alarm triggered and the burglar ran away. An extension cord was recovered near the shed and exterior hinges from the shed door were removed.   White Hall Bond Road, 1600 block, between March 12 and March 18. A set of golf clubs and a pile of split wood were stolen from outside a house. This incident was reported on March 23.

North County Crime: Burglars Target Cockeysville, Phoenix Homes

The following information was supplied by the Cockeysville Police Precinct. In cases where a criminal charge is noted, the information provided does not indicate a conviction.

Cockeysville Eastlake Road, 2200 block, between 7:52 p.m. and 8 p.m. Feb. 2. A burglar broke into a residence by forcing open a rear door. An alarm was removed from the wall and drawers in a bedroom were rummaged through. Nothing appears to have been taken. Cinnamon Ridge Place, 800 block, between 7:40 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. Jan. 30. A resident saw three burglars attempt to break into his house. After he shouted at the suspects, they ran off. Phoenix Sweet Air Road, 4400 block, between 10:10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Feb. 2. North County Crime: Robyn's Nest Consignment Shop Burglarized

The following information was supplied by the Cockeysville Police Precinct. In cases where a criminal charge is noted, the information provided does not indicate a conviction.

Cockeysville Pickburn Court, unit block, between 6:45 a.m. and 9 p.m. Jan. 24. A laptop was stolen from a residence. The home was found ransacked and a door was damaged. York Road, 10800 block, between 5 p.m. Jan. 14 and 1:16 p.m. Jan. 15. Cash, two rings, pendant and postage stamps were stolen from Robyn's Nest Consignment Shop. A window and cash register were damaged in the burglary attempt. The incident was reported to police on Jan. 29. Phoenix Jarrettsville Pike, 13900 block, 3:10 p.m. Jan. 24. Cockeysville Cockeysville Road, 100 block, between 4:30 p.m., Nov. 23 and 8:19 a.m., Nov. 24. A safe containing money was stolen from SACO Supply. Phoenix Jarrettsville Pike, 14000 block, between 7 p.m., Nov. 28 and 7 a.m., Nov. 29. Four dirt bikes, sunglasses and binoculars were stolen from a garage at a residence. Sparks Belfast Road, 1100 block, between 8 p.m., Nov. 27 and 8:03 a.m., Nov. 28. Two vehicles in an unlocked shed at a residence were broken into. It's unknown what, if anything, was taken. North County Crime: Resident Catches Burglar Breaking into House

Cockeysville Malcolm Circle, 10300 block, 9:16 p.m., Nov. 15. A resident returned home to find a man attempting to open the front door of his house. The suspect, described as a 5-foot-11 inch man weighing 195 pounds, fled in an unknown direction. Phoenix Old Farm Road, 4300 block, between Oct. 13 and 3:40 p.m., Nov. 14. An unknown amount of collectible Texaco toys were stolen from a vacant residence. White Hall Vernon Road, 19400 block, between 10 p.m., Nov. 15 and 9 a.m., Nov. 16. Two bookshelf speakers and two shelves were stolen from a residence. A front kitchen window was also damaged.

North County Crime: Three Men Charged with Attempted Burglary

Cockeysville Knollcrest Place, 600 block, 9:38 a.m. Oct. 10. Three men used a rock to smash open a glass window at the residence and attempted to break in, police said. A woman inside saw them and called police. Damon Campbell, Frederick Nichols and Keith Grant were arrested and charged with first-degree attempted burglary, police said. Parkton Hyde Road, 18900 block, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Oct. 6. A stand with jewelry on it was reported stolen from a residence. Police said the burglar broke in through a rear door and also ransacked the master bedroom.
