Crime Log: Rash of Car Break-ins, Vandalized Graveyard Reported

The following information regarding police activity in Cockeysville, Hunt Valley and North County was supplied by the Baltimore County Police Department. In cases where a criminal charge is noted, the information provided does not indicate a conviction.

Cockeysville, Hunt Valley and North County were hit hard by burglaries last week—a not so great start to the new year.  There were nine reported burglaries in total, mostly related to automobile break-ins concentrated in one particular area. The earliest entry in the log saw a vandal knocking over 50 grave stone markers at a local church.  In addition to the burglaries, there were two armed robberies last week, although you'll have to check back with Patch later today for the details.  Cripplegate Road, 13800 block, between 9 p.m., Jan. 3 and 6 a.m., Jan. 4. A burglar stole cash and a Makita model drill from two unlocked cars parked in a driveway. No further information is known at this time. Troyer Road, 17600 block, 5 p.m., Jan. 3 and 12…

North County Crime: 7 Burglaries, 1 Robbery Reported

Old Bosley and Pot Spring Roads, 2:50 p.m., Dec. 7. Two men in a white car pulled up next to a woman near the intersection of Old Bosley and Pot Spring roads. The passenger got out of the car and stole the woman’s pink and white purse, after spilling its contents on the street. The purse was valued at $5. Old York Road, 20800 block, between 9 p.m., Dec. 6, and 8 a.m., Dec. 7. A burglar stole a black 2008 Honda TRX700 ATV that was for sale and chained to a tree in the victim’s front yard. Upper Glencoe Road, 800 block, between 8:15 a.m. and 1:40 p.m., Dec. 6. A burglar stole jewelry boxes containing a gold band with five diamonds, a ruby necklace and assorted costume jewelry. The burglar smashed the rear kitchen window pane to get inside. …

North County Crime: Timonium Man Robbed at Knifepoint in Car

North County Crime: Armed Robbers Strike Cockeysville, Monkton

Cockeysville North Park Drive, unit block, between 9 p.m. Feb. 29 and 8:20 a.m. March 1. Three laptops were stolen from the desks of employees at Nationwide Insurance. A lock was discovered pried out of the front door. Cranbrook Road, 500 block, 10:08 p.m. Feb. 28. A robber entered Quick Mart and pulled out a gun. He forced an employee to give him approximately $300 to $400 in cash from the register, and then ran from the location. Brian Calvert, 25, of the 10400 block of Cranbrook Hills Place in Cockeysville was arrested in connection with the robbery. Monkton Gerting Road, 16900 block, between 8 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Feb. 29. North County Crime: Dirt Bikes Stolen from Different Residences

Cockeysville Cockeysville Road, 100 block, between 4:30 p.m., Nov. 23 and 8:19 a.m., Nov. 24. A safe containing money was stolen from SACO Supply. Phoenix Jarrettsville Pike, 14000 block, between 7 p.m., Nov. 28 and 7 a.m., Nov. 29. Four dirt bikes, sunglasses and binoculars were stolen from a garage at a residence. Sparks Belfast Road, 1100 block, between 8 p.m., Nov. 27 and 8:03 a.m., Nov. 28. Two vehicles in an unlocked shed at a residence were broken into. It's unknown what, if anything, was taken. Daytime Burglars Strike Northern Baltimore County

Police have basic descriptions of two possible suspects.

Northern Baltimore County has been targeted by daytime burglars over the last few days, according to Baltimore County Police. Homes and businesses on northern York, Vernon and Falls roads were among those hit, Cockeysville police Lieutenant Robert McGraw wrote in an email alert. Police have descriptions of two possible suspects in the burglaries. One is described as a 5-feet-6-inch man in his mid-50s with partially gray hair and a possible mustache who weighs about 160 pounds. The other suspect was identified similarly except he is believed to be in his mid-40s and weighs 170 pounds. The suspects may be driving a tan pick-up truck with oil tanks in the back, according to the police email.
