A traffic dispute between two motorists escalated into a violent altercation on March 6, Baltimore County authorities said. According to a police report from the Cockeysville precinct, the road rage incident led a Monkton man and a Westminster man to get into a fight. A motorist from Westminster reportedly crossed the double yellow lines on Shepperd Road at about 6:30 a.m. March 6 to pass a vehicle being driven by a Monkton man, the police report states. At the intersection of Troyer and Shepperd roads, the Westminister resident exited his vehicle and a fight ensued, according to the report. He forced an employee to give him approximately $300 to $400 in cash from the register, and then ran from the location. Allen Shepperd, 38, was sentenced to eight years in prison followed by three years of supervised release.
A White Hall man was sentenced to eight years in prison on Tuesday for threatening to murder an officer with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, authorities said. Following the prison term, Allen Shepperd, 38, will be on three years of supervised release, according to a news release from the Maryland U.S. Attorney's office. On March 8, 2011, Shepperd said he would shoot the ATF officer in the head when the officer, accompanied by a Baltimore County police detective, went to serve him a state indictment, the release states. Junior, a 6-year-old sorrel gelding, was found drowned in a neighbor's pool.
A horse that went missing from a Monkton farm on Oct. 16 and was later found drowned in a neighbor's pool may have been stolen, according to farm owner Gloria Finglass. "It seemed crazy to me that we covered so much ground, but couldn't find him," she said. Finglass said search dogs from Pure Gold Pet Trackers picked up the scent of Junior, the sorrel gelding, at the farm's front gate, an area where the 6-year-old horse would generally not be able to access. She said it appears that he was led across the yard, where tracks in the grass indicate a trailer was waiting. Craig Allen Shepperd was previously charged with arson for allegedly burning down a Monkton horse farm.
A White Hall man pleaded guilty last Friday on charges he threatened to murder an ATF Task Force officer, according to a news release from the Maryland U.S. Attorney's office. Craig Allen Shepperd, 37, told the ATF officer on March 8 that he would shoot him in the head. The threat came when the officer and a Baltimore County police detective went to the Baltimore County Detention Center to charge Sheppard with arson for his involvement in a Monkton horse farm that burned down in August 2010, according to the release.
