North County Crime: Revolver Stolen from Residence

Cockeysville York Road, 10600 block, between noon June 15 and 7:30 p.m. June 16. Stablersville Road, 700 block, between 4 p.m. June 24 and 7 p.m. July 10. A burglar broke a basement window at a residence and stole a .44 caliber Dan Wesson Firearms revolver with a scope from an upstairs bedroom. North County Crime: Bow and Arrows Stolen from Residence

Police Identify Suspects in Alpha Gold Exchange Robbery

Robbers stole money and jewelry from the store, located in the 10800 block of York Road, according to police.

Baltimore County police have identified two suspects in connection with a robbery at Alpha Gold Exchange Thursday afternoon. The suspects are Luis Noel Rodriquez, 28, of New York City, and Vincent Henry Courts Jr., 28, of Harrisburg, PA. The two have  been charged with armed robbery, first-degree assault and use of a handgun in a felony crime, according to a police news release. Both men are being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on $300,000 bail. Police: 2 Arrests in Alpha Gold Exchange Robbery

The suspects allegedly crashed their vehicle on McCormick Road and attempted to flee on foot, according to police.

Police arrested two men who allegedly robbed Alpha Gold Exchange in Cockeysville on Thursday. The men, one armed with a gun, entered the store, located in the 10800 block of York Road, at around 1 p.m., according to a news release from the Baltimore County Police Department. The men confronted the store's employees and stole money and jewelry, the release states, before driving off in a Toyota Camry, which later crashed on McCormick Road, according to police. K-9 and aviation units responded to the scene, as the suspects attempted to run away, the release stated. North County Crime: Juveniles Steal ATVs from Unlocked Shed

The following information was supplied by the Baltimore County Police Department at the Cockeysville Precinct. In cases where a criminal charge is noted, the information provided does not indicate a conviction.

Cockeysville Warren Road, 200 block, between 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. March 17. A television and camera were stolen from the kitchen of a residence.   Parkton Old York Road, 21100 block, between 6 p.m. March 17 and 6:05 a.m. March 19. Someone hotwired a forklift that was blocking a storage unit. The burglar used the forklift to move another forklift that was blocking a second storage unit. The locks to the storage units were cut open and two chainsaws and two chipping hammers were stolen. Three padlocks, the ignition on one of the fork lifts and a hydraulic line were damaged. North County Crime: Juvenile Attempts to Steal Neighbor's Van

Cockeysville Padonia Road, 100 block, between 7:30 p.m. Feb. 14 and 9:30 a.m. Feb. 15. A burglar tried to break into a hair studio by prying on the rear door. The attempt was unsuccessful. Sparks Thornton Mill Road, 14500 block, between 3:30 p.m. Feb. 13 and 4 p.m. Feb. 14. A Honda ATV was stolen from the backyard of a residence. White Hall Graystone Road, 18800 block, between 10 p.m. Feb. 14 and 4:17 a.m. Feb. 15. A juvenile burglar tried to steal a Dodge van from his neighbor's unlocked open garage. He was arrested and charged with second degree burglary.

Cockeysville Police Explorers Host Chick-Fil-A Fundraiser

The nonprofit organization, which introduces youth to careers in law enforcement, is raising money to attend a National Exploring Conference in July.

The Cockeysville Police Explorer Post is hosting a fundraiser at Chick-Fil-A to raise money for the National Exploring Conference in July. On Wednesday, residents who mention the Expolorers at the Chick-Fil-A located at 10142 York Road between 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. will have a portion of their proceeds donated to the group. The Baltimore County Police Explorer Program is a nonprofit organization that introduces youth aged 14 to 21 to law enforcement professions.

4 Monkton Homes Burglarized

The burglaries occurred during the day on Friday.

Four Monkton residences were targeted by burglars on Friday during the daytime.  In each case, the burglars checked to make sure that no one was inside the home, and then broke in through a window or rear door, according to an email message from Robert McGraw, lieutenant at the Cockeysville police precinct. From there, they opened the garage door, pulled their vehicle inside and closed the door before ransacking the homes. The vehicle was described as a four-door blue or gray Honda sedan.  Police said a resident approached two suspects, identified as men in their 30s, and was told that they were lost and seeking directions.  "If the vehicle or suspects are observed, please call 911 immediately to have a patrol car respond," McGraw wrote in…

New Cockeysville Police Captain Brings Diverse Background

David Moxley has worked with two Baltimore County police precincts, sex crimes and vice/narcotics in his nearly 35-year career.

In 1977, David Moxley, then a 21-year-old officer at the Garrison police precinct, was part of a high-speed car chase involving robbers who were holding hostages. William Jackson and Rudy Taylor targeted an Ellicott City jewelry store and kidnapped Bernard Sugar, an owner of the store, and his partner's wife. They drove into Baltimore County and were first spotted by Moxley's patrol car. Soon after, more officers joined the pursuit and a shootout ensued. Sugar was killed in the crossfire. At the time, the police didn't know the robbers had taken hostages. Jackson and Taylor were later convicted of first-degree murder because they had kidnapped Sugar.
