Try to match the dish to the participating restaurants or follow @TimoniumPatch on Twitter for the answers.
Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz relishes MC'ing Baltimore County's Restaurant Week kick-off party. And it doesn't come from the pride he feels presiding over a county industry that employs 25,000 in over 1,2000 establishments, generating $1.2 billion in revenue. No, simply put, it's the food. There were seven of the 44 participating Restaurant Week restaurants catering the kick-off party—each offering a signature dish. Can you guess where your local council member was this morning? The better question however is: Can you guess who brought which dish to the party? Scroll through the Instagram gallery to read up on the dishes and maybe learn a thing or two about the participating restaurants. We'll reveal the answers in Friday …

Brunch at Barrett’s Grill in Hunt Valley Towne Centre rivals its dinner.
Aside from the occasional coffee shop or diner, Cockeysville doesn’t have much in the way of brunch options–an egregious shortcoming Barrett’s Grill has set out to rectify. Since I enjoyed my first visit there for dinner, I was more than happy to return when I found out Barrett’s, located in the Hunt Valley Towne Centre, now serves brunch, especially considering it’s my favorite meal of the weekend. In keeping with my previous experience, the service was impeccable, and it should have been, considering my group was the first and only party to enter the restaurant at 10 a.m. I can only chalk up the empty tables to the fact that brunch is a new feature at Barrett’s, and people don’t know about it yet. So now you know. Although the …

The restaurant will also offer a 15 percent discount for customers who show their business cards.
During the month of October, Barrett's Grill will donate 5 percent of lunch sales to a charity chosen by their customers. When the server presents the check to the table, guests are asked to identify their favorite charity on a short form. From there, the restaurant will tally the organizations selected at the end of the month and donate the funds to the one with the highest number of votes. In addition, customers who present a business card will receive a 15 percent discount off their meals. Barrett's Grill, located at 118 Shawan Road in the Hunt Valley Towne Centre, took over the former Greystone Grill earlier this year. Patch restaurant reviewer Staci Wolfon thought the change was for the best and found the food and hospitality to be …

Barrett’s Grill has given new life to the spot formerly known as Greystone.
Editor's Note: Have you eaten at Barrett's Grill? What did you think? Tell us in the comments. Restaurant Week may just be the greatest idea since sliced bread. Who doesn’t love a great food idea during a week of natural disasters that rarely ever befall Maryland? Not that Cockeysville has a dearth of restaurants, but I’ve been around the block a few times, and Baltimore County Restaurant Week provided the inspiration I needed at the end of a trying week. I perused the site and found a restaurant I had not yet heard of – Barrett’s Grill. I popped it into the GPS, and imagine my surprise when I ended up at the Hunt Valley Towne Center. It turns out that Barrett’s Grill is actually Barrett’s Grill nee Greystone Grill. I’ll admit it – …

We had a good experience with our food, much better than Greystone and more reasonably priced. It also came with a side unlike Greystone which charged more for their steaks. Their wine list could stand to have some additions, it was rather small. Overall we enjoyed dinner, although there might need to be some more attention paid to prep, our napkins were stained which was annoying. They were …   more ›
