I SAW THIS TEENS MOTHER ON TV,AND I CAN NOT UNDERSTAND WHY PARENTS WILL NOT ADMITT THERE KIDS ARERead More NOT LITTLE ANGELS,AND NEVER TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THERE ACTIONS.THEY ARE THEY ALWAYS GET INTO TROUBLE,SOME TIMES FATAL,AND THEN WANT THE PUBLIC TO BLAME THE ADULT FOR TAKING ACTIONS AGANIST THEM.MOM SHOULD HAVE BEEN ON HER SONS CASE,HE MIGHT BE ALIVE IF SHE HAD PAYED MORE ATTENTION TO HIS ACTIONS IN THE STREET .THIS KID CAUSED HIS OWN DEATH,FROM WHAT I CAN SEE........THEY ALWAYS FIGHT ADULTS AND THINK THEY ARE GOING TO WIN,NOT SO IN THIS CASE,I HOPE THE OFFICER IS AQUITED.IM SURE HE DID NO PLAN TO KILL THIS KID
Brad June 19, 2013 at 07:45 am
I agree, I don't think this Officer meant to kill anyone, he was tired of getting his homeRead More vandalized. The victim in this case is not a small person, he is a large individual. I also feel the officer will be aquited. It's not about race in this tragic story, both men are African American, and it's a shame, kids these days can't leave property of other individuals alone. Why kids have to walk around and destroy neighborhoods is beyond me. Get a job or go into the military.

I think it would be terrific if Patch showed defibrillator sites for areas ON THE LOCAL map. InRead More residential communities, close access to a publicly available defibrillator is a problem.
Nick Z. June 19, 2013 at 08:52 am
Usually, a ambulance is closer than trying to leave your home for a defibrillator.
Jake Mohorovic June 8, 2013 at 02:53 pm
Congrats to Bill Barnard. Hope Delegate Mike Weir applies
Eric Martin June 8, 2013 at 07:15 pm
So what about this new law that requires a smoke detector on every floor of ones home? Does thatRead More mean homeowners will be required to allow state inspectors into their homes to see if they have the requisite number of smoke detectors? This state is getting absolutely ridiculous. I can't wait until I'm retired so I can move to a truly free state.
Robert L. Ridgeway, Fire Chief (ret.) June 10, 2013 at 04:43 pm
I have known Bill Barnard since his days with the Prince George's County FD. He's always been anRead More outstanding administrator, as well as a tireless advocate for fire prevention and related programs. Good luck in retirement Billy and congratulations to you.
Gil June 7, 2013 at 01:18 pm
As long as it stays East of the Chesapeake we'll be OK. I lost my home to Isabel, high water comesRead More with storms tracking West of the Chesapeake. Living on the water is like being on vacation every day, punctuated by the occasional storm!
Jimmy Thompson June 7, 2013 at 07:16 pm
Stay safe, everybody!
Dennis Gilpin June 7, 2013 at 07:35 pm
There will still be people who think they can "text and drive" under those dangerousRead More conditions. Dangerous under "normal conditions". People just won't give it up. Stupid !
Honeygo Hal June 7, 2013 at 02:10 pm
Good luck with that...
Buck Harmon June 7, 2013 at 02:14 pm
Yea...agree...maybe there is something to that prepping trend that seems to beRead More growing....alternatives don't look very promising at this point...
Sanchez June 7, 2013 at 03:12 pm
JAY LENO: See, when I was growing up, we were always afraid of Big Brother watching us. And now withRead More Obama, we actually have a brother watching us. See what I’m saying. We got a brother watching us. That’s right. And Attorney General Eric Holder said despite all these controversies, he has no intention of stepping down. Hey Eric – I didn’t either. Sometimes it just happens. Okay? Sometimes it just happens. Welcome to show business.

At Pinewood there is one road that feeds in and out of the school. It seems that no one wants to doRead More anything to relieve what could be potentially a serious situation if a real emergency would occur. Bottlenecks are an everyday occurrence and on special occasions, such as "grandparent day" total gridlock is the norm. It seems that neither administration at the school or the parents want to admit that a problem exists. I think the children at Pinewood are potentially put at risk due to the intransigence of school and parent leadership.
M. Sullivan May 18, 2013 at 04:45 am
There would still be total gridlock on "Grandparent Day" if it was a six lane road. LOL!
reader May 19, 2013 at 01:10 am
M. Sullivan, no doubt about that, but you have to understand that the road in front of the schoolRead More actually has three speed bumps to add to the mayhem. Remember this is not a thru street but dead ends at the school. You drive over the bumps going in and then when you drive around the circle you go over them again. With one road I still feel it has the potential to cause real problems.

I know this woman. The police did the right thing, and followed protocol. Very possibly anRead More attempted suicide by cop because she has serious mental illness. I am very sorry for the suffering the couple has undergone and now the police office who was forced to shoot her. Nonetheless, it is a miracle she survived.
J May 25, 2013 at 04:00 pm
What would you have the police do if YOU or YOUR loved one were the one being threatened by whatRead More appeared to be a real weapon? How would YOU know that the person was mentally ill in such a situation? Leave it to chance? Miraculously, she survived, but we can only pray that she will be rescued from the demons in her head.
J May 25, 2013 at 04:05 pm
She's not a "moron". Far from it. She's quite mentally unstable and has been for years.Read More She "deserves" what she got? Perhaps, in her misery, she sought to end her life. In ignorance, you judge. May you not be so judged.

Who's Anthony Brown?
Mr. Average May 14, 2013 at 11:26 am
Gretchen: All I needed to see was that he (Anthony Brown) is part of the O'Malley admin. I dont careRead More what he has to say about anything, I will not vote for him...

Between 2 AM and 2:45 AM I believe. Who would be out that time of time. Sounds like somebody knewRead More when the Cafe' was opening up.
Needaname April 5, 2013 at 11:18 am
Glad the owner was not injured. I am sure this will take awhile to get over - he probably looksRead More over his shoulder several times a day.
Julie Smith April 1, 2013 at 08:43 pm
oh my god
Richard Douglas April 2, 2013 at 04:46 pm
So Julie you call people jerks that you don't agree with and use God's name in vain. Maybe youRead More should keep your comments to yourself. Listen to your mother and "If you can not say something nice, then don't say anything at all.".
Richard Douglas April 6, 2013 at 12:30 am
If you have to ask "Other Tim", then you were not taught manners or respect by yourRead More parents either. And to answer your question, nothing. But in your circle I'm sure the answer is: I'm stuck in the past. While you let whatever fool thing that crosses your mind just roll on out because its your right. This is what happens when, as a kid, you get a trophy for loosing.

Stealing an Iphone with find my iphone technology built in? Who ever said criminals are smartRead More anyway. Oh well once they track down the phone they will have there man. I didn't know the light rail ran that early Cockeysville, the next ghetto, thats why I headed North
Needaname April 6, 2013 at 11:19 pm
I hope the Police can be nearby when the owner arrives at work. This just makes me sick. I betRead More someone knew what kind of hours the owner keeps.
DFT April 8, 2013 at 09:11 am
Pure man I've known him for years went to see him sunday and he said he's fine but he's like familyRead More to us he is definitely in our prayers. People with there dumb comments don't have a clue crime is everywhere no matter race or gender sadly its gonna get worse so you can run and move all you want. And as for guns the criminal took his gun and phone and as much as I hope they find the jerks they won't.
