When we think of heroes we tend to think of the military, but there are many heroes here at home,…Read More and this man was certainly one of them, as are so many in our police3 and fire services. And he leaves behind a brother and sister following his footsteps. Our hearts go out to all his family, and to his mates in service.

I remember Neil Armstrong's walk on the moon when I was younger and

It's funny how people's ages in your mind are so different from what they actually are. Mr.…Read More Armstrong was only ten years younger than my parents--and when he walked on the moon, I was a little girl. But he was the Luke Skywalker of my generation, and to me, he was much closer to my age. I am saddened by his loss, and will never forget the thrill of his moon walk. I even wrote a poem about it at that time. He was a "hero" in the best sense of the word--not a carousing, drunken, drugged-up jerk, but a true and modest man who in his own eyes was "just doing his job"--making exciting, unforgettable history for the rest of us. I'm so glad he lived to see Curiosity get to Mars--and I hope he gets the best telescope in heaven, from which to watch its progress!

Zep do you have kids & were you ever a teenager??????????? Teenagers do stupid things everyday.…Read More The fact that one posted a message on twitter saying they were drinking doesn't mean they were drunk and there isn't even any proof other they a twitter post that they were drinking. People of all ages are on that bridge all the time, what happened to those girls was a freak accident and simply that. It could have happened to anyone at any given second of the day. These girls did absolutely nothing to contribute to this accident, they were just at the wrong place at the wrong time. People can easily be killed anywhere, your more likely to get into a fatal car accident then a train accident, does that mean to never get into a car again???? No matter how hard you drill safety into your kids they are going to make their own decisions, these girls made a bad choice and unfortunately they paid a big price for it. But as a parent all you can hope is that you have taught them good, you can't wrap your kids in bubble wrap and keep them safe forever.
