The Baltimore County Historical Society is headquartered amid the rolling hills of Oregon Ridge. The last Almshouse in Maryland, built in 1872, stands majestically on the green grounds and contains photos and artifacts of Baltimore County's rich history. The society's monthly discussions often include lessons and lectures about local historical buildings. The library is comprehensive and the photographs tell the story of Baltimore County from all perspectives.
