The horse last won the prestigious steeplechase race in 2010.

For the second time in three years, Twill Do won the at Worthington Farms.

Despite the dreary weather on Saturday, the horse and jockey James Stierhoff finished the daunting four-mile, 22 jump course against 12 competitors in eight minutes and 46 seconds. This was the 116th running of the third and most prestigious race in the Maryland steeplechase triple crown.

"If this is the only race I win in my life, it's a good thing," Stierhoff said with a laugh.

As the owner of the winning horse, Lucy Goelet was honored with the Challenge Trophy.

senior Connor Hankin and Battle Op finished in second place. The pair also won the 2012 Voss Memorial, the marquee race of .

The finish came after Hankin fell off Eye Said Scat Cat during the My Lady's Manor race, the second jewel of the triple crown, two weeks ago.

Hankin's father Michael Hankin owns Battle Op.

Rounding out the top three were Bon Caddo of Merriefield Farm and British rider Sam Waley-Cohen. Waley-Cohen was the to compete in the Hunt Cup, but the first in a number of years.

William Meister, who won l with And The Eagle Flys, fell off the horse during a jump near the end of the race. Meister is also the trainer for And The Eagle Flys and Twill Do.

As winner, Twill Do's team will receive 60 percent of the race's $75,000 purse. The second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth place finishers will receive 18 percent, 10 percent, 5 percent, 4 percent and 3 percent of the purse respectively.

Private Attack, the , did not place in the top six.
