Phelps, Maryland Olympians To Be Honored Downtown
The ceremony will be the first since swimmer Michael Phelps finished his final Olympics.
State and local officials are planning a golden homecoming this upcoming Monday.
The governor's office announced Wednesday that Gov. Martin O'Malley, County Executive Kevin Kamenetz and Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake will host a celebration for and other returning Olympians and Paralympians next week.
The ceremony is set for Monday, Sept. 10 at 4 p.m., at the Inner Harbor Amphitheater at Pratt and Light streets in downtown Baltimore.

Phelps, a Rodgers Forge native, added six medals—four gold, two silver—at the London Olympics. With 22 medals total, he is now the most decorated Olympian of all time.
