British Eyes on Hunt Cup's Waley-Cohen

The Telegraph previews one Hunt Cup rider.

Horse racing fans from both sides of the pond will be watching this weekend's Maryland Hunt Cup steeplechase.

Waley-Cohen will be the latest in a string of Englishmen to face the race, but the first in a number of years, the paper reports.

The first was Paul Webber in 1985, who recalled the "bloody hairy" high fences of the Hunt Cup course in an interview with the paper.

The other problem is something unique to Maryland and horse racing. As The Telegraph's Marcus Armytage writes, "[T]he Hunt Cup is the only race of the day and most of Maryland’s gentry turn up with a liquid picnic in the car boot."
