Patapsco High Principal Honored as 'Emerging Leader'

A professional education organization announced Ryan Imbriale as one of its 22 Emerging Leaders.

Patapsco High School's principal is on the list for a national honor, Baltimore County Public Schools announced Thursday.

Patapsco principal Ryan Imbriale was recognized as one of 22 Emerging Leaders by PDK International, an education professional organization. The Emerging Leaders program honors educators aged 40 or younger based on their professional accomplishments.

“I am certainly very excited and honored to be recognized as an Emerging Leader by PDK International,” Imbriale stated in a school system release. “It offers a wonderful opportunity to network with colleagues from multiple perspectives, and I am proud to represent BCPS and highlight the fantastic things we’re doing here.”

Imbriale will be honored at an event in Washington, DC.

The former middle school social studies teacher, professional development coordinator, e-learning specialist and assistant principal, was named as one of the National School Boards Association's "20 to Watch" in 2008.

A Cockeysville resident, Imbriale is also an adjunct instructor at Johns Hopkins University.

“Our principals play a key role in setting the stage for student development inside the schoolroom walls," Superintendent S. Dallas Dance said in the school system release. "Mr. Imbriale, however, goes beyond this and promotes student development in such a way that prepares the students for their own leadership opportunities later in life. Our system is proud of his contributions and success.”
