Hereford Football Claims Victory Over Eastern Tech

The led by Andrew Fisher. triumphed over Eastern Technical High School in a 26-6 victory.

Fisher scored the game's first touchdown on a 51-yard run, booted field goals of 26 and 29 yards and ran for 76 yards as a replacement for the injured Will Bittner.

In addition, teammates Austin Brown, Richard Lee and Mike Swiger ran for 79 yards and a 24-yard touchdown, a 4-yard score and 46 yards respectively.

The Hereford Bulls led 14-0 at halftime and 26-0 in the fourth quarter, when the Eastern Tech Mavericks scored their only points on a 67-yard scoring pass from Brady McKinney to Francis Massally.

The Bulls (2-2 overall, 2-1 league) rebounded from last week's 24-19 loss to league rival and returning Class 3A state runner-up Franklin High School, during which they led 12-7 early in the game.

The visiting Mavericks (1-2 overall, 1-1 league) were coming off of last weekend's 47-14 victory over Essex-area rival Kenwood High School that helped them to bounce back from a 13-2 loss to Franklin.

In their past 10 meetings, the Bulls have won six times over the Mavericks.

"I play a 3-2-3-2 formation this season," Coach Tammy Mundie said. "Three attack-forwards, two links, three midfielders and two backs."

In Thursday's 4-1 win over Perry Hall High School, Martello had a goal and an assist and Mary Claire Abbott, Jessica Karwacki and Litsinger each scored a goal.

The Bulls will be back in action at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday against Loch Raven High School.
