Four Hereford Middle Schoolers Featured In Online Magazine
A group of area students were featured in March edition of MY-Say magazine.
Four area middle schoolers were featured this month in an online publication that is written by middle school students for their peers.
MY-Say Magazine, www.my-say.org, is a nonprofit publication edited by children's author Jennifer Keats Curtis; the March edition of the online publication featured three Hereford Middle School students writing about arts, sports and music.
The featured student-authors and their articles are:

- Hereford Middle School 8th grader Dylan Principio who interviewed Baltimore Ravens Kicker Justin Tucker.
- Hereford Middle School 7th grader Emily Kohelstein who wrote about playing in a steel drum band; and 8th grader Danielle Saman who provided a photo for her article.
- Hereford Middle School 8th grader Maddi Benn who wrote a poem titled "Music Box" and provided artwork for it.
The magazine is a partnership between the State of Maryland International Reading Association Council (SoMIRAC), Maryland Library Association (MLA), educators, and children’s author Jennifer Keats Curtis; currently the publication is sponsored by BGE.
In an email to Patch, Curtis wrote that Hereford Middle principal Cathy Walrod and teacher Traci Siegler "serve as educational advisors for the publication and have been instrumental in ensuring that Maryland middle schoolers get their say."
