Crazy Things in Baltimore County History
Did we celebrate our 350th Anniversary in the wrong year? How do we know that any British government document dated September 12, 1752 is a forgery? Why was New Year's Day on March 25th for the first 93 years of our county's existence? What is the literal meaning of "battening down the hatches?" What did we mean when we "scared the Dickens" out of someone? These are the kind of "insider" pieces of historical lore that few outside the field know about. Participants will explore the oddball things about practicing history in Baltimore County. Designed for students from those mature middle schoolers to college students. Admission is $5, students are free.
