Walmart Manager Accused of Stealing More Than $15,000 from Store

Jennifer Lashe Ramsey-Williams has been charged with taking the funds between Aug. 16 and Sept. 6.

manager Jennifer Lashe Ramsey-Williams was arrested on charges of theft after she was accused of stealing more than $15,000 from her employer, according to Baltimore County District Court records.

The Frankel Way store in Cockeysville was investigating cash shortages at the location and allegedly discovered an irregular pattern of behavior from Ramsey-Williams, 40, which deviated from Walmart protocol, employees told police in a statement. Video records captured the manager entering the store's cash office and leaning inside the safe on nine separate occassions, according to court records.

Court documents also state that Ramsey-Williams took $15,310 from the safe between Aug. 16 and Sept. 6. She allegedly admitted taking money from the safe in a written statement to Walmart, and said she did so for medical treatment expenses, according to police.

She was arrested and terminated at the store on Sept. 19.

Ramsey-Williams was taken to the Baltimore County Detention Center but was later released on a $5,000 bond. A hearing on the charges is scheduled for Nov. 22 at 8:30 a.m. in District Court.

Calls to Walmart were not returned.
