Police Identify Woman Found Dead in Phoenix

The body was discovered in the 1300 block of Phoenix Road on Thanksgiving morning.

Baltimore County police have confirmed the identity of a inside a burned car on Thanksgiving, according to a press release. 

The body of Carolyn Davidson Von-Schnell, 51, of the 1300 block of Phoenix Road was discovered behind the wheel of a Toyota Camry at around 9 a.m. in the same block as her residence.

Early investigations showed that the car went off a hill, hit several trees and caught on fire with Von-Schnell trapped inside, said Lt. Robert McCullough, a police spokesman. She was discovered down an embankment by a police helicopter canvassing the area looking for her as a missing person.

According to the release, the cause of death hasn't been determined and the investigation in ongoing. McCullough previously told Patch that Von-Schnell's death appears to have been an accident.
