A dog named Luke from the Baltimore County Police Department helped find a burglary suspect inside the National Infiniti in Lutherville, police said.
Patrick Jenkins Donovan, 26, of the 200 block of Felton Rd., Lutherville, was charged with attempted theft of $10,000 or more, fourth-degree burglary and grand theft automobile, according to court records.
Police went to the dealership, 20 W. Timonium Rd., on Saturday, responding to a theft of a car in progress, according to a report by the Baltimore County Police Department's Cockeysville Precinct.
"Upon seeing the police, the suspect ran from the officers while inside of the fenced-in property," the report states.
K9 Luke and an officer went inside the property, and the officer gave warnings that the dog was there, but "there was no response heard," the report states.
The dog located the suspect in a culvert, it states. The dog left wounds on Donovan, including punctures and lacerations to his left shoulder, left ear and the back of his neck.
The suspect was taken to Sinai Hospital for treatment.
He was later released from the Baltimore County Detention Center on $10,000 bond, court records state.
