Huguely Defense Hearing Delayed

Defense attorneys for the Chevy Chase man convicted in the death of Cockeysville native Yeardley Love are seeking to set aside the guilty verdict and request a new trial.

A hearing for a motion to set aside the verdict and request a new trial in the murder conviction has been rescheduled.

In February, Huguely, 24, was of second-degree murder and grand larceny in the May 2010 death of Cockeysville native Yeardley Love. were both lacrosse players at the University of Virginia.

The hearing, which was scheduled for Friday, will now take place on Aug. 22 at 1 p.m., according to a news release from the Charlottesville, VA circuit court clerk.

A call seeking comment from the clerk on the reasoning for the hearing delay was not immediately returned.
