The most alarming items stolen however were handguns—three to be exact—taken out of an unsecured home. That's sure to stir the debate about gun control issues circling the State House right about now.
But we begin this week's log with a crime of passion (not literally) committed against an elderly Ravens fan.
Dubbs Road, 16600 block, between 6 p.m., Jan. 12 and 10 a.m., Jan. 13. Someone stole an 82-year-old man’s Baltimore Ravens banner from his front yard.
York Road, 11000 block, between 12:17 and 8 a.m., Jan. 10. A burglar broke into Arby’s and stole fast food. Police noted that a dead bolt was damaged.
Lakecliff Court, unit block, between 8:20 and 8:21 p.m., Jan. 10. Two men bludgeoned a Cockeysville resident with a flowerpot before stealing his iPhone 4 and wallet. The victim was taken to GBMC to be treated for his head injury.
Jarrettsville Pike, 14800 block, between 5 a.m. and 6:50 p.m., Jan. 9. A burglar pried open a rear window and ransacked a home. It is unknown what, if anything, was stolen.
Manor Road, 15400 block, between 9:30 a.m. and 3:15 p.m., Jan. 9. A burglar stole three handguns, jewelry watches and money after intruding through an unlocked rear garage door.
Cuba Road, 14500 block, 10:54 a.m., Jan. 7. A burglar cut power to a Cockeysville home by “attacking [the] outside utility box,” according to the police report. The burglar proceeded to break the glass around the front door of home to get inside. An Xbox 360, 25 Xbox 360 games, various jewelry and a Dell laptop were stolen. A neighbor’s security camera caught the suspect’s vehicle—a large dark colored four-door sedan—on tape.
Corbett Road, 1000 block, Jan. 7. A burglar stole a wooden armoire and various jewelry from a Monkton home.
