CRIME: From a Stolen Flower Pot to a Winchester Rifle, Thieves Don't Discriminate This Week

The following information was supplied by the Cockeysville Police Department. In cases where a criminal charge is noted, the information provided does not indicate a conviction.

Old York Road, 21100 block, between 2 p.m. on Aug. 6 and 3 p.m. on Aug. 7. Vachino Masonry Contruction Company, a Parkton business, was robbed when the locks were pried off two large storage containers. Nearly $8,000 of property was stolen, including two guns, a 9422 Winchester and a .17 caliber Thompson. Stolen tools include grinders, saws, hammer drills, a Dewalt impact gun, a gas auger and two chainsaws.

Gibbons Boulevard, unit block, between 7 p.m. on Aug. 5 and 2 p.m. on Aug. 6. An 18-inch white square flower pot was stolen from the front yard of the Cockeysville home.

York Road, 11200 block, on Aug. 6 at 4 a.m. The Cockeysville 7-Eleven store was robbed by a 6-foot-2 male suspect described as slender and wearing black clothes, black gloves and a black mask. According to reports, he entered through an unlocked rear fire door and used a wooden baseball bat to force the clerk to fill a plastic bag with cash from the register. Before he fled, he also took five packs of Marlboro cigarettes.

Big Falls Road, 17400 block, between noon on Aug. 3 and 8 a.m. on Aug. 5. A lawn tractor was stolen from the garage of a Monkton home. The suspect entered by breaking the garage door window.

Blue Mount Road, 2300 block, between 9 a.m. on Aug. 1 and 3 p.m. on Aug. 4. Two ATV four-wheelers and a dirt bike were stolen from a detached garage of a Monkton-area home.

York Road, 21000 block, between noon on Aug. 2 and 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 4. A television and cash were stolen from a Parkton location when an unknown intruder entered the home by cutting the plastic covering on a doorway that was being renovated.

Old Lyme Road, unit block, on Aug. 3 between 8:15 a.m. and 1:10 p.m. The suspect broke a rear door and removed jewelry and a portable safe from a closet in a Cockeysville home.
