Cockeysville Teen Who Murdered Family Seeks Reduced Sentence
Nicholas Browning was given two consecutive and two concurrent life sentences in 2009 for the crime.
Nicholas Browning, who murdered his family in their Cockeysville home in 2008, is scheduled to appear in Baltimore County Circuit Court on Friday to seek a reduced sentence.
Browning, who was 16 when he committed the crime, was given two concurrent and two consecutive life sentences at the Patuxent Institute, a correctional mental health facility in Jessup.
His attorneys filed the motion for sentence modification in 2009. But Judge Thomas Bollinger didn’t rule on the request at that time and has since scheduled this week's hearing, according to a news release from the Baltimore County State's Attorney's office.

Browning used his father’s gun to shoot his brother Benjamin, 11, his brother Gregory, 14, his mother Tamara Browning and his father John Browning in the head.
