Both businesses were also charged, according to the 11-count indictment.

Esnaashari's bank deposits totaled more than $1.3 million, which he broke up into approximately 205 cash deposits at bank branches in Hunt Valley and Parkville, ranging from $113 to $9,980, according to the news release. The federal threshold for reporting cash transactions is $10,000.

A bank must treat separate cash deposits in the same day as a single deposit. Esnaashari is charged with, according to the news release, "attempting to cause a bank to fail to file a report by making multiple deposits in amounts under $10,000 on the same day at the same bank."

He is also charged with three counts of making the same types of deposits at different banks on the same day.

No court date has yet been scheduled.
