Celebrate National Night Out In Hunt Valley-Cockeysville

Hunt Valley-Cockeysville will join forces with neighboring Lutherville-Timonium to celebrate the 30th anniversary of National Night Out Tuesday night.

From 5:30-8:30 p.m. Aug. 6, join the Cockeysville Police Community Relations Council, Baltimore County First Responders and your neighbors at Epiphany Episcopal Church, 2216 Pot Spring Road, in Timonium to "give crime a going-away party".

The town fair-style event includes games, prizes, food and information on safety, community and crime prevention, according to event organizer Jennie Fumarola. Representatives from the Baltimore County Police Department, Texas Fire Department, Cockeysville Volunteer Fire Department, Target, Neighbor to Neighbor, United Healthcare, Mixed Grooves, Lite 102FM and other partners are expected to attend.

The program, organized by the National Association of Town Watch, is part of a yearlong campaign designed to "heighten crime prevention awareness, generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships, and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back," the release states.

“This is a night for America to stand together and promote awareness, safety, and neighborhood unity. National Night Out showcases the vital importance of police-community partnerships and citizen involvement in our fight for a safer nation. On NNO, we invite neighborhoods nationwide to join us and 'give crime a going away party'," wrote national program organizer Matt Peskin in the release.
