Romanian Gypsy Wedding Receives Bomb Threat

Celebration took place at the Masonic Lodge in Cockeysville.

Baltimore County police are investigating a bomb threat made against a "Romanian Gypsy wedding party" that was hosting a ceremony at the Grand Masonic Lodge of Maryland in Cockeysville, according to police reports.

On May 17, a male suspect made a call to the lodge from a pay phone and stated there was a bomb on the premises set to go off in 15 minutes, police said.

Police spokeswoman Cathy Batton said no explosive devices were found at the scene and that the ceremony was not broken up because of the threat. She also verified the threat was directed at the wedding party.

Herbert Holcomb, grand secretary at the Masonic Lodge, said an “unruly” male wedding guest was escorted out of the ceremony by wedding security earlier in the evening.

Batton could not confirm a link between the two incidents. Police are still investigating the incident.
