Young Equestrians Compete in Maryland Junior Hunt Cup

Races to take place at Shawan Downs.

The 11th annual Maryland Junior Hunt Cup, which aims to encourage an interest in horse racing for kids, will feature pony flat races, junior field master chases and a stick pony race.

Organized by the North American Pt-to-Pt Association, a non-profit committed to preserving amateur steeplechase racing, the Junior Hunt Cup looks to support the future of the sport in Maryland.

The Sunday event, held at Shawan Downs, will include nine races. Post time for the first race, a young rider timber race, is at noon.
