VIDEO: County Shelter Seeks Home for Abandoned Pig

Check out Patch's featured pet of the week.

The Baltimore County Animal Shelter's latest guest really likes to ham it up.

On Jan. 8, Ruth, an active pot-bellied pig, was found caught on a trap in the woods by an animal control officer.

Over the past few weeks, Baltimore County Animal Control officials had searched Scotts Level Road in Pikesville and Villa Nova Park after receiving reports of sightings of the pig, according to a news release. Ruth, who is 1 year old, is currently available for adoption at the Baltimore County Animal Shelter. Her adoption fee has been waived.
