So Long, Hunt Valley

Former editor Nayana Davis is taking over the helm of Towson Patch.

When I was first hired as the editor of Cockeysville Patch—which also covers Northern Baltimore County—in fall 2010, I have to admit I knew nothing about the area.

In the nearly two years since, I have grown to appreciate a community with a strong small business presence that is passionate about equestrian sports, land preservation and also serves as a hub for national corporations such as Proctor & Gamble and McCormick.

It was a true honor and pleasure meeting many of the residents and employees in this community, and sharing their stories. It's really been a great ride.

Effective Thursday, I am starting as the editor for Towson Patch. While I'm excited to start this new phase of my career, I will certainly miss my time in Cockeysville.

But don't worry: the newly named Hunt Valley-Cockeysville Patch will be left in very capable hands. Former Towson Patch editor will keep an eye on happenings in the community when he returns from vacation on Aug. 24. You can contact Tyler via email at tyler@patch.com.

In the meantime, I'll be handling the reigns of both Hunt Valley-Cockeysville and Towson—with the help of Lutherville-Timonium Patch editor Nick DiMarco— so readers don't experience a disruption in local news coverage.

You'll still see my byline here as I continue my coverage of Baltimore County education. But if you ever want to chat, I'll still be around. Feel free to call me at (443)-537-3962 or shoot me an email at nayana.davis@patch.com.
