Sci-Fi Fans To Converge on Hunt Valley

The Hunt Valley Inn is hosting Shore Leave, an annual science fiction convention.

The 34th annual Shore Leave, a science fiction convention that typically attracts about 1,500 fans, is returning to the Hunt Valley Inn from Aug. 3-5. 

The convention, which was founded by the Star Trek Association of Towson, originally focused on the cult classic television show but has since grown to accommodate other science fiction interests.

Organizers traditionally line up celebrity guests for autograph sessions, photo opportunities and speaker panels. This year, LeVar Burton from Star Trek: The Next Generation, Kate Mulgrew of Star Trek: Voyager, Musetta Vander from Stargate and voice actor Vic Mignogna are among the guests listed on the event's website.

Other events at the convention include writing workshops, stargazing and games.
