It’s time to review the George W. Bush Legacy: When Bush came into office, he not only found a balanced budget, but there was an existing treasury surplus. Therefore, it was time for a tax break-- for the wealthy. And while he was reading his favorite book, My Pet Goat, two of the America’s tallest buildings came tumbling down. So now George was advised by Vice President Dick Cheney and/or Secretary of Defense Don Rumsfeld, and/or a character named Paul Wolfowitz, along with the CIA that the Iraqis had weapons of mass destruction (WMD) and were partially responsible for the 9/11 attacks. The “Decision Maker” sent in our troops right after lying to Congress, the troops wiped out the Iraqi army. The victorious George W. Bush appears on an aircraft carrier in his slightly used flight suit and announces “Mission Accomplished,” but the US Army fought for nine more years in Iraq. So thus started the Middle East adventure.
Next, Bush’s was told to attack Afghanistan to find and kill Osama bin Laden by those same advisors. So here America is in two Middle East wars to the tune of $1,000,000,000 per day and the death of about 6,000 of America’s youth; also, an untold amount service men and women lost limbs and/or suffered post traumatic stress (PTSD). Next comes the request to raise the debt ceiling to support two wars and the Republican Congress goes for it--several times. The economy starts to fail because of deregulated banks and George leaves office.
So why would gas prices go up? Just because we spent a decade fighting in the Middle East? Under Saddam Hussein, Iraqi kept the the Iranians under control; he avoided a civil war in between the Shiits and the Sunnis. The American army and the mercenaries killed more Iraqis than the former Hussein government.
So now Obama takes office and is the blame for gas prices and the poor economy and several wars?

After the oil arrives through any pipeline, what happens? It goes into an oil cartel called OPEC; they decide the price. Those who believe American drilled oil goes directly to a refinery and then into the motorists’ gas tanks are living a dream. Exxon clears 49 billion dollars a quarter and only fools blame Obama.

If you missed the great TV comedy acts, say like Martin & Lewis, Jackie Gleason, Red Skelton, or Carol Burnett--the comedy is back and it’s called the Republican debates. The Republicans need to bring back Michelle Bachmann and Rick Perry because they were the stars of the show. To tell the truth, I was pulling for the Bachmann/Perry ticket, just think Michelle could keep us informed on the latest happenings of our revolutionary forefathers and Rick could have kept us up to date on the latest scientific discoveries by the Evangelicals.

If the anti gay marriage item makes to the voters in November, Maryland could have a great “bigot ballot” with an African-American (black man) running for president and Latinos looking for a financial break for community colleges.
***
And the present day Republicans are in the party of Lincoln? Am I the only person to change my party registration to Independent or Democratic?
Obviously I can't match wits with you, your repartee is too filled with facts and creative imagery. "Foreest for the trees," wish I had thought of that.
You seemed well adapted at vitriolic comments like, "If the anti gay marriage item makes to the voters in November, Maryland could have a great “bigot ballot” with an African-American (black man) running for president and Latinos looking for a financial break for community colleges.", but have no credible evidence to back up any such claim. "It’s time to review the George W. Bush Legacy:" My question is Bush is not running for president Obama is, so unless this is a history lesson your point is moot. I wholeheartedly agree with your quote of, "So now Obama takes office and is the blame for gas prices and the poor economy and several wars?" Yep, you can't argue with the facts.
" "Foreest for the trees," wish I had thought of that." My question to you sir is what thought did you have when you put together this 'blog'? Because all I see is a tired, years-old rant from the left. It looks like your entire piece is simply cut/pasted from the comment section of the Huffington Post(or any other left leaning publication). I'm not a fan of Bush, but at least come up with something original.
Not everyone is as bright as you. Many suffer from political amnesia, therefore, that some things Obama did not do. He didn't raise the oil prices, he didn't start the wars in the Middle East on false information (as a member of Congress he voted against the wars) he didn't get the country in debt, and he didn't kill cock robin. TV comedy shows and the bigot ballot are not original?
Oh boy, when Romney is elected, he will make Santorum Secretary of State. And, Biuzzy, the Bush/Cheney ideas are ruinning for president. What especially like are the anti-female ideas, the Paul Ryan budget, no taxes on wealth. Take a look at yourself and admit where you belong in this election rather than pander to others on the blog.
http://thehill.com/blogs/on-the-money/budget/216397-obama-budget-adds-35-trillion-in-deficits-cbo-finds " ...he didn't get the country in debt,". Well ugh? As a teacher, did you forget to do your home work, or as a coach, you know your squads weaknesses. Yep, things in the Middle East under his watch are just dandy. Ed, I've said this before, I think your in over your head.
As to your question of: "Please tell me, what did Obama inherit when he was elected? http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-20095704-503544.html
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DyLmru6no4U wherein Obama calls Bush "unpatriotic" and irresponsible for increasing the national debt. Since we're fast approaching the next election, insteading of starting your piece with "It’s time to review the George W. Bush Legacy", perhaps we should review the Barack Obama legacy. Because, um, George Bush isn't the one running for re-election. Typical liberals--pull out the old race (or bigot) card and play the blame game when you can't run on your own record. Time to admit Obama's presidency has been a failure.
you're right, vote Romney
My best interest is not having Obama as president for another four years. Your problem is you can't logically defend his record so you do what we cops call divided attention buy reflecting on Bush, who by the way is not running for reelection. Unemployment is high, the housing market is in the tank, the debt is approaching $16 trillion, and we can't afford to pay the interest on the deficit. We are still involved in the Middle East which is destabilizing as we speak. Our trade deficit is horrendous and our debt is 100% of GDP. Gas continues to rise at the rate of one penny increase depletes $1 billion out of the economy. What has Obama done during his tenure in the WH? That is the question you won't answer because you can't see past the Bush.
I have told you repeatedly it's about issues not party lines. I was against the wars. I think Bush is one of the worst presidents in our nation's history. I remember your imature email when you called me a blowhard because I had a website and you didn't. What kind of lame ludicrous statement is this "he started us on torture." What the heck do you think this is Ed, Romper Room? http://www.nytimes.com/2006/06/20/world/20cnd-iraq.html?_r=1 You are in way over your abilities here; "run your pandering mouth again. Don't forget to sign the gay marriage petition it's online." How many times do I have to ask you a direct question before you answer it? WHO AM I PANDERING TO? Do you want me to ask it a third time before you define your statement? You never did answer my question on what is the definition regarding the word ludicrous. I really don't think you read what you write before posting your comment. You make assumptions without facts and accusations without any research. That is why I repeatedly say you are outclassed. What does singing a petition regarding the marriage issue have to do with this? I never engaged in that debate or offered my views.
Obama can't clean up in six months what Bush/Cheney screwed up over eight years. The last time we chatted you were championing Pat Mcdonough and his petition on Latino children. Why wouldn't you sign something that is anti gay marriage? It would be within your character. Finally, if you want a government run by John Bohner, Mitch McConnell, Paul Ryan, Wall Street then vote Mitt Romney ( the next Herbert Hoover). Pandering: you do it for the Tea Party characters that check in here.
Quote number one: "if you don't believe sticking the US in two Middle Ea$t war$ hasn't impacted everything in this nation from the deficit to gasoline prices, ...". Response, I did not support the wars, issues not party lines remember! As to Obama vs Bush vs gas prices, the price of gas when Obama took office in 2009 was $1.84, what is it now Ed? Answer that please? Why do you continue to regress - back to the future? Bush left in 2009, this is 2012. Who is president? Next quote: " Obama can't clean up in six months ...". Obama has been in office THREE YEARS now, not six months. Teachers do take math classes don't they? Next quote: "The last time we chatted you were championing Pat Mcdonough and his petition on Latino children." Try college students not pre-K or grade school or middle school. Ed. Get your facts straight. Pre-K students do not qualify for MD instate tuition. An finally this quote: "Pandering: you do it for the Tea Party characters that check in here." Name me one registered member of the Tea Party regarding this blog? Quote one comment I made regarding the Tea Party. Just one. I'm not a member. I comment on issues not party lines, groups or organizations. Obama's failures: http://obamalies.net/list-of-obamas-failures
I look at the issues, research the facts on those issues and take a stance. To assume that all D's think one way and all R's think another is at best a stretch that defies logic if not humane nature, science and a multitude of other issues. I referred to WW II because there are great lessons to be learned there. Those that blindly followed the party lines of Germany, Russia, Italy, and Japan payed a heavy price. It seems to me you can't get beyond labels and establish your own assessments. You just blurt it out there because its the party line and then find the facts i.e. gas prices under Bush and Obama don't reflect that and you paint yourself into a corner. I did not vote for Bush. I thought he was terrible. Under your guidelines you leave yourself no options. I asked you a question concerning the debt a while back and never heard from you. You do that a lot. The facts get in the way. Here some of the issues we face. I thought you at least might try and formulate an answer. http://money.msn.com/investing/why-all-signs-point-to-chaos-mirhaydari.aspx http://globalpublicsquare.blogs.cnn.com/2011/03/08/americas-debt-threa/ http://www.fareedzakaria.com/home/Articles/Entries/2011/3/3_Are_Americas_Best_Days_Behind_Us.html Ed, facts not labels.
You're right. Obama started two wars in the Middle East and sent 6000 GIs to their death, he took a surplus and turned it into a deficit, he tortured our captives, he deregulated the banks and Wall Street and then bottomed out housing mortgages, he screwed up healthcare so that folks with a pre-existing conditions couldn't receive medical assistance, he made the auto industry go bankrupt, he thinks corporations should have the same rights as people, Romney & Santorum are super candidates, he wants to do away with contraceptives, he thinks pregnancy through rape should be looked upon as a gift. Buzz, please don't send me websites--they too are opinions and not facts. Continue with the Washington Times and Fox News, they're right all the time. The next time you have an original thought you will be able to see stretch marks on your forehead.
Ed your a coach remember. Stats count right? FOX is number one. Ed's quote: :Buzz, please don't send me websites--they too are opinions and not facts." Might I be so bold as to ask you where you got your information that 6000 GI's were killed? Are you the sole source of facts cause if you are you might want to read this one. http://cnsnews.com/news/article/60-us-military-deaths-afghanistan-have-occurred-obama-was-inaugurated-2009 You'll notice it's not FOX or the Times.
Your reference to my work in drug enforcement is as bit of a stretch. That was my job assignment. We enforce the laws that cops don't make. Oh by the way, crime will be around until the end of time. Is the 6,000 number you allude to (comma after 6 remember) is that fact or opinion, because the facts are a little different than your number or opinion. You said, "but BUZZY, you have no opinions." Ed everyone has opinions. I attended college but did not graduate. Ron Smith never graduated from high school and these people never graduated college either. http://www.collegedropoutshalloffame.com/ What's with you grammar? This is a little confusing, "empty thought--Like I told you ..." I might be wrong, but I think a period would be more appropriate than a dash. We street cops had a saying about some commanders - book smart, but street stupid.
