Is the New iPhone 4S worth it?

Let's cover a few of the key new features:

The iPhone 4S incorporates the same Dual-Core A5 chip that is in the iPad 2. This proprietary Apple designed chip actually turns the current 3G download speed into the equivalent of 4G - the chip delivers up to two times faster performance and an amazing 7 times faster graphics for those who may be gamers. Additionally, the A5 chip does a lot of tasks that make the new camera even better (better white balance, stability, and other features).

Speaking of camera, the new camera is an 8 Mega Pixel resolution camera. This new camera has an extra lens element 5 versus 4 in the iPhone 4. The camera is more robust in many ways including all new graphics, true 1080p High Definition video recording and editing. As was mentioned in the Keynote presentation this may be the best still and video camera and certainly the most accessible camera the vast majority of people will carry. The iPhone 4 users shoot more photos than any other point and shoot camera in the world already.  In my opinion, this is bound to increase exponentially.

In April 2010, Apple purchased Siri. Siri is a terrific application that now allows the user to communicate verbally with their phone to accomplish a multitude of tasks, here are some examples: Dealing with your address book, calendar & clock Query your contacts  What's Joe Smith's address? What is Bill Jones' phone number? When is Jane's birthday? Show Phyllis' business email address Deal with your calendar Set up a meeting with Michael at 9 Schedule a sales call at ABC Corp. at 11:30 tomorrow Reschedule my appointment with Dr. Franks to next Monday at 10am What's on my calendar for Friday? This is but a small sample of the iPhone 4S's new voice assistance feature through Siri, exclusive to this ever evolving smart phone. There is so much more.  We will explore the new upgrade to the operating system - iOS 5 which has over 200 new enhancements and iCloud the ultimate wireless storage system in future blogs.

Finally, is the new iPhone 4S worth it, especially compared to the iPhone 4 I already own?  Yes, in my estimation all the new features, additional memory (to 64 GigiBytes) and enhanced hardware all make it a compelling smart phone and I have already ordered mine and expect to have it in a week.
