Bay Trust Seeks Votes for Photo Contest Finalists

One Annapolis finalist put his plate on a race car, while a Pasadena woman recreated a scene from the Andy Griffith Show.

The Chesapeake Bay Trust has narrowed down finalists in a summer photo contest, and officials are asking the public to vote for the winner.

Three photos of Chesapeake Bay license plates in unusual places were chosen as finalists in the "Show Us Your Plate" contest. Residents can vote online for their favorite of the three photos and have a chance to win a $100 Amazon.com gift card.

The finalists include Thien Le of Germantown, who took a picture with a wild horse while on a camping trip at Assateague Island. Matt Geldmacher of Annapolis put his plate on a race car at an event in New Jersey. Connie Michael of Pasadena recreated the characters of the Andy Griffith Show.

“The Chesapeake Bay means so much to all of us and purchasing a Bay plate is an easy way to show your support for this amazing natural resource,” trust spokeswoman Molly Alton Mullins said in a release. “We launched this contest to provide an opportunity for Marylanders to show their love for the Bay by taking pictures of their plate at creative locations around the region.”

Voting is open through Sept. 18. A winner will be announced on Sept. 23.
