Orioles Double-Header to Snarl Traffic in Downtown Baltimore

Traffic may be a doozy on Friday, transportation officials say.

Traffic in downtown Baltimore can be tricky on any Friday evening but on June 27, it will be especially harrowing, according to the Maryland Transportation Authority.

"...anticipate HEAVY downtown Baltimore traffic," the Maryland Transportation Authority said. "Day/night Orioles double-header will impact afternoon rush."

At 1:05 p.m. on Friday, the Baltimore Orioles take on the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. Then two teams face off again at 7 p.m. The split double-header is the result of a rained-out game on April 15, according to MLB.com; the afternoon game is to make up for the missed matchup.

With two games at Camden Yards, officials said drivers should expect delays downtown.

Those taking Interstate 95 south to get out of the city will have traffic issues already, as there has been a bottleneck due to work on the I-395 ramp; one lane of I-395 is closed through mid-July, and I-95 south is split in two, as the highway's surface and joints are replaced, according to the Maryland Transportation Authority.
