Matt Walder, a student at Arizona State University, and Pikesville High School alum, shows purple pride.
"When we suit up, we are gladiators. "So don't talk to me about pain. "Don't tell me about sacrifice." Those are the introductory words to Matt Walder's Ravens anthem, posted Tuesday on YouTube. The song, a Seven Nation Army remix, by the Pikesville High School alum from Owings Mills, is a rousing chant in support of the Baltimore Ravens as they take on the San Francisco 49ers Sunday in Super Bowl XLVII. "Here's a little diddy for you Ravens fans to get pumped up for the Superbowl!!! BALTIMORE STAND UP!!!!," Walder said on YouTube. Dulaney High School's marching band continues its tradition of excellence.
It was a year ago that Dulaney High School's marching band performed for the Silver Anniversary of the New Year's Parade in London. Now The Lions Roar will once again jam in the new year, only this time, subtract her Majesty, and add thousands of screaming football fans. The series, starring Kevin Spacey, has been filmed in Harford and Baltimore counties.
Netflix recently released the trailer for its series "House of Cards," which was filmed partly in Baltimore and Harford counties. The show, starring Kevin Spacey, is based around Washington, D.C. politics. It debuts Feb. 1, 2013. Follow Maryland Patch on Facebook and Harford County Patch on Twitter. Scenes were shot in Havre de Grace in June, with Spacey captured in a Patch photo despite heavy security along Union Avenue. The film star also signed the guest book at the city's visitor's center during his stay. Havre de Grace was depicted as Gaffney, SC during the filming, and a Gaffney publication featured the city—and Patch reporting—in a June edition.
