Take in a Free Comedy Night at Hightopps

Open mic night for stand-up comedians is set for Sunday in Timonium at the bar and grill.

2 Local Students Earn Optimists' District Oratory Honors

The pair will compete in the regional contest in Ocean City.

Students from Cockeysville and Timonium won the Maryland/South Delaware District, Zone 6 Optimist Oratorical Contest. Mary Norris of Cockeysville and Connor Maher of Timonium came out on top Tuesday after presenting their original speeches about "Why My Voice Is Important," before a panel of judges. They earned a plaque and their expenses paid to the district competition in Ocean City. Norris represents the Optimist Club of Timonium, and Maher represents the Optimist Club of Cockeysville. They go on to compete in the district contest April 26–28 at the Carousel in Ocean City, where there is a $2,500 scholarship award for the best girl and best boy competitors.

Jacoby Jones, Dorothy Hamill on DWTS Week 2

Dancing With The Stars features two performers with Baltimore ties.

Ravens receiver Jacoby Jones and partner Karina Smirnoff improved upon their debut performance on Dancing With The Stars Monday night. The pair earned a 20 out of 30, up one point from the week prior. The show also featured Baltimore's Dorothy Hamill, the Olympic and world champion figure skater. She and partner Tristan McManus earned a 15, as Hamill struggled through a back injury. The series airs on Monday and Tuesday nights on ABC. TELL US: Did you watch Monday's show? Department of Aging Announces Senior Art Contest

Categories in the contest include drawing, jewelry, painting, woodworking, photography and models.

Calling all creative seniors. The Baltimore County Deparment of Aging Art/Craft contest will start taking entires at area senior centers in May. Entries won't be judged until June but to give potential artists and crafters plenty of time to work on their masterpiece the agency announced the contest Wednesday. Interested seniors will register at the senior center in their community to compete in that area's contest. In the Hunt Valley-Cockeysville area, participants can visit Cockeysville Senior Center, located at 10535 York Road. Baltimore's Jacoby Jones, Dorothy Hamill Star on DWTS

Dancing With The Stars debuted its new season Monday night, featuring the Ravens receiver and the Baltimore-based figure skating champion.

Ravens receiver Jacoby Jones broke out "the squirrel" with partner Karina Smirnoff in his first performance on Dancing With The Stars Monday night. The season premiere also featured Baltimore's Dorothy Hamill, the Olympic and world champion figure skater. Check out the video with this post for their performances. Jones earned a score of 19 out of 30 dancing to "Cha Cha Cha", while Hamill pulled in a 21 with her perfomance to "Tiny Dancer." The series airs on Monday and Tuesday nights on ABC. Jones was asked to perform on the program after his charisma and dance moves were on display during and following the Ravens' Super Bowl victory in February.
