Lutherville Contractor Awarded Cockeysville Walgreens Job
The project is expected to be completed by Fall 2013.

Lutherville-based Mullan Contracting Company will be handling construction of a new 13,000 square foot Walgreens, after being awarded the contract Red Leaf-Warren, LLC, according to a release.
Construction has already begun at the intersection of Warren and York roads in Cockeysville. The project's anticipated completion date is Fall 2013.
"The two-story building, which will feature exposed ceilings and polished concreteflooring, will be built on a site that formally housed a full-service gasoline station," the release states.
There are currently Walgreens stores in both Towson and Lutherville, both on York Road.

Do we really need this? There is a Walmart and Target less than a mile to the South and a couple of pharmacies less than a mile to the North. The gas station/convenience store that was there seemed to be pretty busy, plus they supported the car dealerships.

Thirty years ago, full service gas stations paid the most per square foot for high traffic corner locations. That one of these has been taken over by a drugstore represents an import societal change I believe.

Maybe not so much societal as economic, considering the outrageous cost of prescription drugs.

Consider the increased traffic at this already congested accident pron intersection. Do we really need another Walgreen? More traffic problems?
