UPDATE (10:15 p.m.) Camera flashes flickered through the windows of an Olmstead Road home Monday evening as detectives inside investigated a double homicide.

Police say they found an elderly man and woman dead in the Sudbrook Park home shortly after 4 p.m. Monday.

The as yet unidentified pair suffered traumatic wounds, according to Cpl. John Wachter, police spokesman.

The man was found on floor of the first level. The woman was found on the basement floor, he said.

Sudbrook Road resident Brian Kuebler lamented that such a crime occurred just down the street, where Sudbrook turns into Olmstead Road.

"We usually tell folks who don't live in our neighborhood that it's like living in a Norman Rockwell painting," he said, noting he has resided in his home since 1999. "It's absolutely shocking to come home to this."

He said he came home at about 6 p.m. to find the western part of Olmstead Road blocked off by a police cruiser and crime tape.

Police went to the home to check on the residents shortly after 4 p.m., at an out-of-town relative's and a neighbor's request.

"We go to the house, look around, we are looking in a window and see an adult male lying on the floor. At that point, we forced entry... and found an adult female in the basement," Wachter said.

Both were dead at the scene, Wachter said, noting that the medical examiner will come out to the home in the 800 block of Olmstead Road and give an official time of death.

Eric Langston, who for six years has lived in the adjacent neighborhood Silver Creek with his parents, said he is upset by the incident.

"I'm really, really shaken up because this sort of thing just doesn't happen in Sudbrook Park," the 21-year-old community college student said. "I just came home from school today to do some homework. Life is very strange."

His parents' backyard is near the backyard of the home in the 800 block of Olmstead Road where police were investigating.

Langston said he has seen the elderly couple that resides in the house and "They seemed really reclusive."

Kuebler said he is familiar with the elderly couple that lives there, although he does not know them. "I know them to say 'Hi,'" he said, giving a slight wave toward the street where he has seen them.

"It's very sad. Our hearts go out to them."

Police said there was no evidence of forced entry.

The couple was last seen on Friday, Wachter said. Anyone who has information is asked to call 410-307-2020.

Police are investigating a possible homicide after two bodies were found in a Pikesville home.

According to Baltimore County police, officers were called to a home the 800 block of Olmstead Road at 4:01 p.m. Monday after an out-of-state family member asked a neighbor to check on elderly relatives there. The neighbor then called police.

Officers saw a man's body through a first-floor window, then entered the home to find a woman's body in the basement, according to a police news release.

Police said in the release that homicide detectives are investigating.
